Indiana prices up over the last month, but still down from last yea
Aurora, Ill. (June 5, 2017) – Illinois gas prices are dropping heading into the summer driving season. The average price in Illinois for an unleaded gallon of gasoline is $2.42, down $.03 from last month’s and last year’s price per gallon. In Indiana, the average price is $2.37, up $.13 from a month ago but even with last year’s price. Nationally, the average is $2.38, which is even with the average prices last month and up slightly from last year.

“Nationally, the demand for gasoline as the summer driving season kicks in has caused an uptick in gas prices,” said Beth Mosher, director of public affairs for AAA Chicago. “While Illinois and Indiana prices have been fairly stable, they could follow the national trend and rise in the coming weeks due to higher demand.”
